|
Now you have it, you went out and bought a $250 gadget and don?t have information as to how it works. Haven?t we all experienced this? Sure, we have, so don?t feel it bad. Installing Software If you have a Mac or PC, your IPOD came together with software in which you will need to install. If you own a MAC, the software will mechanically convert your information over to the proper functional formats. Windows converts to FAT32 while MAC converts or optimizes to HFS. It no big deal if you don?t know much on the technical disadvantaged. No big deal, I went to school and achieved two Associate degrees in computers and now I am technically disadvantaged also. Anyway, FAT is a File Allocation Table that stores files into your system. If FAT table is corrupted, your computer not function. Macs HFS is a Hierarchical File System, this is where Mac stores files into the hard drive. You don?t need to worry about optimizing, since the software will automatically handle this process for you. Windows Optimizing Installation You need to follow these steps in optimizing the software programs if you are installing on a standard computer. You will have a pop-up box with system guide. Downloading ITUNES programs into the Hard Drive You will need to download and install iTunes program, since this is what most IPODS refer as friends. This program enables you to download, purchase, and play music from a play list or library. You can also rip, burn, download, and transfer files from this program. This program is what you will ever need to perform all the named actions. I recommend the latest version, since it is up-to-date and has more to offer than the previous versions. Not only this, if you keep all your software on your computer updated it will spare you in the future in performing any technical problems. Transferring Files If you already installed the program or software that came with your IPOD you are now ready to plug it into your computer. Your cord that came up with your IPOD, which is called a USB Cable, the cable will be connected to a USB Port at the back or front of your computer. Now you are ready transferring your files, data, photos, music and much more to your hard drive. The FIREWIRE is what you will need to charge your IPOD if it exceeds the battery limit. During Transfer After you have selected the music to transfer and the process is in progress, DO NOT stop, or unplug the device until the update is fully completed. Doing so could corrupt files. Once you see a message that the process is completed near the source list, then you can hit eject and unplug your device. Now you have completed the transferring process and are now ready to listen to your favorite music tunes. Tip Use your IPOD carefully, since I?ve learned that these gadgets can be easily scratched in the data storage and files that can be easily corrupted. Since IPODS first came out and they have certainly made new innovation, now everyone is buying these wacky gadgets. Therefore, if you have an IPOD you must have a manual, so that you can learn more about the new Nano IPOD. |
